England saw their elimination confirmed with a game to spare on Wednesday, after suffering an eight-run defeat against Afghanistan in Lahore - their 12th in 16 ODIs and their sixth on the bounce.

Buttler and his side were set a target of 326 by their opponents, but came up short as they were bowled out for 317 when Adil Rashid was caught with just two balls remaining.

Elimination will increase the pressure on Buttler, whose position as captain was already under scrutiny, but he says everyone must take their time before coming to any conclusions.

"I don't want to make any emotional statements right now, but for myself and the guys at the top, we should consider all possibilities," he said at the post-match presentations.

"If I knew [why my form is lacking], I probably wouldn't be playing the way I am.

"I don't feel far away from my best. I am one of the best players in the world, and it's disappointing when you're not reaching that level.

"Obviously,betef.com going out of the tournament is really disappointing. I thought we had our chances in the game, and was gutted to come out on the wrong side."

Ghana will have a chance to gain their second victory while Lesotho would like to put up a stronger performance.

Cameroon had a tougher start as they lost to Ghana in their opening match but came back strongly to defeat Mali in the second match. Cameroon will have to put their best foot forward if they are to halt Tanzania's winning run.

Joe Root had given England hope with an impressive knock of 120, which contained a strong partnership with Jamie Overton, but it ultimately proved academic.

"I think Root played an unbelievable innings, and we needed another one of the top six batters to stay with him for longer and take the game deeper," Buttler added.

"Root and Overton put on a great partnership there, but in the last 10 overs, it got away from us a bit."
