As many as five teams enter the IPL 2025 season with new faces at the helm, with the franchise owners opting for major change in the 2025 edition, thanks to the mega auctions held in December.

Ahead of the IPL 2025 auctions, franchises such as Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals decided to retain some of their old faces. MI, five time IPL champions, kept hold of their five stars -Jasprit Bumrah,betef Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma.

In Chennai Super Kings side, they former champions retained Ruturaj Gaikwad, Matheesha Pathirana, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni.
